Willamette Pride
We have launched our very own version of Extreme Makeover High School Edition for Willamette High School. Our team is made up of students, parents, and staff volunteering their time and energy. WHS was built in 1949, with several additions added later. The funding has been used to save teaching positions and keep class sizes as small as possible. This is definitely the priority, but as a result of limited funding our physical facility is really in need of some attention.
Wonderful things happen at Willamette everyday, and we would like to help the school shine! We are working with paint, carpet, school furniture, and technology companies to make this happen. The outpouring of support is exciting!
If you are interested in helping, we are accepting products, services or monetary donations through the Bethel Education Foundation. Checks can be made payable to the "Bethel Education Foundation" and please write "Willamette Pride" in the note. Please mail to Bethel Education Foundation, 4640 Barger Drive, Eugene, OR 97402. Note that 5% of all monetary donations will be put in the BEF Grant Fund. Visit us at www.facebook.com/willamettepride or email us at invest@betheleducationfoundation.org.
This last summer Willamette Pride launched a volunteer paint project at Willamette High School. We painted the interior hallways and breezeways at the high school with help from community members, parents, students, and staff members. Willamette Pride is actively seeking additional help from the Bethel community. Volunteers can sign up to be on the Willamette Pride email list by calling Margaret Hansen at
541-688-9450 or Brooke Cottle at 541-607-3751.
